About

I'm Lubasi S. Nkalolang — an Actuarial Analyst building at the intersection of actuarial science, data science, automation, and quant finance.

The Journey

Started with Actuarial Science at Ba Isago University. But I realized — the industry is slow to adopt new tools. Spreadsheets everywhere. Manual processes that take weeks.

So I learned to code. Python first, then R, then Go. Started automating what I saw taking my colleagues weeks to do manually. The moment I turned months of work into minutes — that's when I knew this was the path.

Now I'm building toward quant finance. Learning machine learning applied to financial modeling. Exploring how automation + data science + finance intersect. Still early — working toward IFOA exams — but the technical edge is already there.

What I Build

  • Automation — turning weeks into minutes
  • Data pipelines — from raw data to insights
  • Risk models — actuarial & quantitative approaches
  • Tools — custom solutions for analysts

Why This Matters

Insurance and finance are data-heavy industries that haven't fully embraced automation yet. There's a gap between what's possible and what's being done. I bridge that gap — with code.

Current Focus

Actuarial analyst looking to grow in data science, automation, and quant finance. Open to opportunities in Gaborone or remote. Building skills while working toward IFOA certification.
