About lubasiverse
A small personal site for writing, notes, and tools that make the boring bits faster.
lubasiverse is where I keep things that would otherwise live in scattered docs and gists — blog posts, project notes, and small tools built along the way. It's built with Astro and hosted on Cloudflare, but really it's just a place to document what I'm learning and share the bits that might save someone else a week of manual work.
The common thread is the gap between theory and how things actually run. Textbooks make things tidy; work is messier — spreadsheets that take weeks, processes held together with copy-paste, reporting that shouldn't need a weekend. I like tech and apply programming where it helps, mostly around actuarial work, data, and finance.
You'll find two main things here:
- Writing — short, high-signal posts on tools, workflows, and lessons learnt. No fluff, code only when it earns its place.
- Projects — small, practical builds like V-Star and the IFRS 17 pipeline. Not demos — things that chew through millions of rows without breaking a sweat.
It started with VBA automating Excel, then R for the stats, then Python for the real work, then Go when I wanted it to be fast. Not to become a software engineer — just to make the manual bits disappear. The first time a week of work became ten seconds, I kept going.
